Google announced today that it is adding a new tag called " local source " in its news platform - Google News.
Google has said that this is doing to help readers around the world to identify the sources of news may be particularly close with a news subject .
Often these local news sources can provide additional context and local perspective .
Google says its news algorithms will now look at what geographical area wrote a news publisher , and which countries have published the news link . All this is being done to help identify local resources .
